What happened
Betzone operated in Tanzania as a licensed bookmaker under the Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT), with offices at Plot No. 15, Mikocheni B, Old Bagamoyo Road, Dar es Salaam. Its site is no longer operating.

Two warnings that matter more than usual in this situation. First, nobody can recover your balance for a fee: any account offering to do so is a scam, and payment-recovery scams follow every operator closure. Second, never share your ID documents or banking details with a site or person that contacted you first.
How to check that a site is actually licensed in Tanzania
Tanzania is one of the countries where licensing is real and checkable. Before depositing anywhere, look for the GBT licence number in the site footer, and confirm the operator name matches the one on the licence. A Curaçao licence is not a Tanzanian licence: it is an international permit that gives you no local regulator to complain to.
This distinction is not academic. With a locally licensed operator, a dispute has an address in Dar es Salaam. With an offshore one, it has none.
What to check before you deposit anywhere
1 · The name on your mobile money must match the name on the betting account. Deposits from an M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa or Airtel Money number registered to someone else go through without any warning — and then the withdrawal is blocked, because verification requires both names to match. This is the single most common reason a withdrawal fails, ahead of everything else.
2 · The currency is fixed when the account is created. If you open in USD and then deposit in TZS, every movement pays a conversion in both directions.
3 · A bonus is not withdrawable cash. It carries a wagering requirement. Until that requirement is met the amount cannot be taken out, and the expected cost of clearing it frequently exceeds the bonus itself.
